The "Paid Organic" Playbook for Indie Games on TikTok (Spark Ads, Explained)

“Paid organic” sounds like a contradiction. It isn’t. The idea: you don’t buy reach for a cold ad — you put a small budget behind content that has already proven it works organically.

The shape:

  • Post organic clips. Most get little reach; that’s fine.
  • Within 24–48 hours, spot the one that over-performs. That’s your validated creative.
  • Use Spark Ads to boost that specific post with a modest spend. You’re amplifying proof, not guessing.

Why it beats pure paid: a cold ad starts at zero trust and fights the algorithm. A boosted organic post already has comments, saves, a track record. Viewers trust it because others already did.

Cost reality in 2026: purely organic reach has fallen from 15–20% to 4–8%, so zero-spend is no longer a strategy. But dumping a big budget on unproven creative wastes it. The middle path — validate, then amplify — lands around a few dollars per wishlist instead of tens.

The discipline: let the audience pick the winner, then spend behind it. Never the reverse.
